Member Guidelines for Submissions to the Website

Guidelines are set up to help you understand what is needed and what makes life easier for both of us. Your accurate conformity to the following guidelines is appreciated in advance.

Guidelines for submitting EVENTS PAGE announcements:


  1. Please see the events page for sample formatting

  2. General content requirements:
    1. authors' names, if more than you
    2. Event Title
    3. location
    4. date and time
    5. blurb of <50 words
    6. contact info as you want it: (options)
      1. website address (so I do not have to search for it)
      2. email address
      3. phone#
      4. contact person, if not you.

  3. Specific content formatting
    1. Text only, no images.
    2. Use space between lines where appropriate
    3. No bold text, colors, italics, etc.
    4. No information set up as images, such as jpg, gif, psd, png etc.

  4. Submission file formats:
    1. .txt documents preferred
    2. .doc are ok
    3. .pdf are ok



Guidelines for submitting MEMBER BOOKSHELF book data:


    Instructions:
  1. copy and paste the items listed below into a word .doc or text file
  2. save to your hard drive
  3. leaving spaces between the lines, add your book(s) data into the file
  4. complete all items
  5. resave it
  6. send only a COMPLETED file.
  7. email the .doc/ .txt file as an attachment to srjoyeux@gmail.com

Image of the front cover:
Either send an attachment to the email or insert it into the word .doc file.
Minimum size is 150 x 225 x 72 pixels in a common format. Larger is good, but do not crop.

Guidelines for submission to the Calgary Authors' (CA)
"Authors of the World" (AW) webpage:


Criteria:
  1. The author making the submission is not a member of CA.
  2. The book or ebook is available to the public.

Audio File Submission


Member authors may wish to add audio readings of passages from their books.

Requirements are as follows:
  1. Recording format: MP3
  2. Length: 1.5-3.5 minutes
  3. Please record at high volume
  4. Send an MP3 file by email to Roger.

To make a recording on your computer, you will need a microphone or a set of headphones with a microphone that plug into your computer. Audio recording software for installation on your computer is readily available by searching "mp3 audio recorder" in your internet browser. Or, you can go to CNET downloads HERE and set up their "My MP3 Recorder".

EMAIL Protocol


Emails, sent as communication to Calgary Authors' members, may involve the group, part of the group, or a single individual. DISCRETION IS KEY. Please do NOT send broadcast emails to the group when your communication concerns only one or a few individuals. Please respect our member's time by not clogging members' email inboxes with messages that do not concern those members directly. If you are sending a broadcast email to all or many members, please use the BCC (blind carbon copy) function on your email server. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
